Founded in 1978, Zhejiang Construction Technician College has 3 Chinese training bases for the World Skills Competition, 1 national skill master studio and 2 provincial skill master studios. The college is the leader in the development of construction technician education in Zhejiang Province and is known as the “Whampoa Military Academy” for training high-skilled talents in architecture.
In addition to the Department of Basic Teaching, the college has Department of Architectural Engineering, Department of Economic Management, Department of Architectural Art and Department of Installation Engineering, with 15 majors at two levels of senior technicians and technicians. Among these majors, building construction, elevator engineering technology (building automatic control equipment installation and maintenance), construction equipment installation and budget, building decoration, project cost and other construction majors are provincial brand majors. In addition, the two majors of building construction and elevator engineering technology were also shortlisted in the third batch of pilot majors of integrated engineering teaching reform of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.
In the World Skills Competition, the college won a gold medal, a silver medal and a winning prize. And, as the leading base of the concrete construction project, it won the gold medal, which is also China's first gold medal in this project. More than 300 students have won prizes in skills (disciplines) competitions at all levels, including more than 20 first prizes in national skills competitions.
